After School Programs

Spring Forward after-school programs are held up to four days a week at six sites, serving kindergarten through third grade students in the Rock Island-Milan School District. Activities at each site include an after-school snack, homework help, instruction and enrichment, physical activity and a meal at the end of the day. We enroll students in collaboration with their teachers, focusing on struggling readers in first through third grade. One of our top program goals is to have all program participants reading at or above grade level.

In the 2017-2018 school year, 250 kids from the Rock Island-Milan School District participated in Spring Forward after-school programs. Our staff included certified teachers who provided literacy instruction. Other elements included homework help, STEM activities, and art projects led by staff and community enrichment partners.
